ABOUT THE DESIGNER
Who do you design for and what is your style?
My background in graphic design has made me a firm believer in ‘form follows function’. Therefore, I wouldn’t say I have a particular style. I think this makes my designs very versatile, and allows me to work for a diverse collection of clients and aim for a variety of markets. I have a strong interest in typography, so some of my work either includes it or is strongly influenced by it.
What inspires you?
As an avid collector and kid-at-heart, I am inspired by all things vintage or nostalgic, particularly from my 1970s and ’80s childhood. I have a soft spot for vibrant color palettes, patterns and design elements hidden in my everyday surroundings, found objects, Pop Art, music…you name it!
What do you love about being a designer?
I'm a very quiet, private person, so the creative process helps me express a part of my personality I might not show otherwise. I love designing prints that other people can use to express themselves and be creative. Every step in the development of a design is exciting, especially when experimenting leads me down a completely different path...to an often better solution!
Where can you be found/what are you doing on your days off?
I have a young son who keeps me active and teaches me to look at just about everything in a new way. In my free time, I love scouring estate sales, flea markets, and thrift stores; cooking; beachcombing; and watching retro TV shows.
