ABOUT THE DESIGNER
Who do you design for and what is your style?
I have designed for a varied market, which includes the fashion world and prints for interiors.
I do quite a lot of hand painted work directly on to the fabric, this technique is used for the detail needed on Couture garments. My style is somewhat eclectic, traditional florals, detailed stylized prints, my own interpretations of vintage design.
I also design for greeting cards, stationery and tile.
What inspires you?
The colors of nature, flowers, gardens, sky and ocean.
The work of William Morris, Liberty, Sanderson, Celia Birtwell.
Historical costumes and vintage fabric prints.
What do you love about being a designer?
A never ending flow of inspiration from nature and history, with the freedom to express what I see in any way I want.
What else would you like us to know about you?
I was born in Nottingham, United Kingdom, a city famous for its lace and textiles. I studied art and textiles in the UK, before moving to the U S. I attended Parsons school of design here in Los Angeles, where I studied Textile and Surface Design.
Member of The William Morris Society.
