When SPDG members Sarah Schwartz and Ruby Geisler of Sarah & Ruby Design Studio were approached to create custom wallpaper for a room in the 2013 ShowHouse in Greensboro, North Carolina, they couldn't have been given a dreamier challenge! The pair, who specialize in creating custom fabric and wall coverings for the high-end interior design market, were tasked with making a toile design using original blueprints from the historic Adamsleigh home—a magnificent art-deco era mansion built for textile magnate John Hampton Adams, and this year's Greensboro ShowHouse.
Serving as a fundraising event for the area's Junior League, the Greensboro ShowHouse gives local interior designers free reign to make over a room in a grand home. Designers Traci Zeller and Lisa Mende were assigned Adamsleigh's dressing room, where they decided to pay homage to the home's history by enlisting Sarah and Ruby to create the unique blueprint wall treatment.
Although the event has passed, the Adamsleigh dressing room with Sarah and Ruby's design can still be seen in the cover story of the October 2013 issue of Traditional Home magazine. According to the article, their "one-of-a-kind wall covering steals the spotlight."
