The Guild strives to give its members information about all aspects of the surface pattern design industry. Some of our members have been quite successful being in-house salaried employees for companies. At our next meeting, on June 12th, a panel of four guests will give us the inside scoop.
In this, and the next two blog posts, each of our panelists will share a little about themselves. Today we profile Sarah York.
With a BA in Art History from San Jose State, and a certificate of completion from the Institute for Textile Print Design in Berkeley, Sarah is certainly qualified. While finishing the program in Berkeley, she began working for Suzanne Tucker Home as their Coordinator. Since they knew Sarah had experience in textile design (and they were a small company), Sarah had a wealth of experiences that many freelancers have missed; she assisted with designing, proofing fabrics, launching collections, working with showrooms, warehouses, mills, as well as many other details. Sarah had a wonderful experience, and hopes to continue working in the home textile market in the future.
