By attending August's guild webinar with Photoshop expert extraodinaire Sherry London, I was the lucky winner-by-drawing of a spot in her latest Photoshop class "Two Weeks To A No-Fail Seamless Toss Repeat." Sherry is a Photoshop pioneer with over twelve published books on Photoshop and Illustrator. She teaches the Photoshop for Designers classes for Pattern Observer, and is the author of many on-line tutorials. Because she is a surface pattern designer herself, she has a unique perspective on the computer tools that can facilitate work-flow and output for our profession's unique creative process. This class was very well organized and clearly expressed. It developed an understanding of the basic elements of a simple tossed repeat, and then put them together for a final file that was submitted to Spoonflower for printing. Sherry even gave each participant a gift certificate to have a sample of the finished design printed! This is only one example of her generosity. Sherry provided lots of bonus content, and through the private Facebook group associated with the class, promptly answered any questions at any level of experience with patience and encouragement. Even though I've had a fair amount of experience putting together a fabric design, Sherry's class filled in a number of gaps in my understanding of workflow and the Photoshop menu of tools and actions, such as the use of clipping masks and smart options. I'm definitely going to follow up with Sherry!
